Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh
Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh is the Cultural Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates and the Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University UAEU. Prior to taking on this role, Nusseibeh was a Minister of State in the government of the United Arab Emirates setting up the Office of Cultural and Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
He served as an Assistant Minister in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and as the Cultural Advisor at the UAE Presidential Court. He has been active in government service in the United Arab Emirates since the country’s establishment, and prior to that, in the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, modern-day capital of the UAE.
Born in Jerusalem, Nusseibeh attended Queen’s College, University of Cambridge, graduating with a master's degree in economics. His honors include the Abu Dhabi Award, the Cultural Foundation Pro-Europe European Arab Culture Prize, the Golden Medal of Arts from the Kennedy Center, and an honorary PhD in Human Sciences by the University of Jerusalem.
