Professor of Mathematics. Advanced spectral theory, semi-classical analysis, and the combinatorics of graphs. Worked on the spectral theory of Laplace operators, providing the first rigorous proof that the length spectrum of a Riemannian manifold is a spectral invariant of the Laplace operator. Proved fundamental theorems in the spectral theory of graphs.
