Manin served as a Trustee Chair, was a Professor of Mathematics, and was a Scientific Member. He solved many problems in number theory and algebraic geometry and developed new techniques in the theory of differential equations and mathematical physics. His research also focused on quantum cohomology and noncommutative geometry.
