Yanan Shen

Yanan Shen is a professor of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. Shen’s research combines field campaigns worldwide and laboratory studies to improve our understanding of Earth history, in particular, the dynamic interactions between life and environment. He is especially well known for doing a vast territory of science from his reconstruction of earliest Earth history to studies of air pollution and human health in China. His work on all extinctions have documented geochemical and atmospheric causes and defined the fragility of the earth. This definition is increasingly important to assess our present impact on the earth’s environment and helps define its future.
