Xuetao Cao

Prof. Cao made seminal contributions to our understanding of molecular mechanisms of innate immunity, inflammation and cancer by discovering key immune regulators and cell subsets. He pioneered the development of autologous DC-based chemoimmunotherapy of metastatic cancer patients in China. As the President of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS, the NIH in China), he successfully reformed the system and promoted the development of medical research system in China. As the President of Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), he coordinated the resources to strengthen the international collaborations among the GACD members in US (including the NIH), Europe and China.
