Research Interests:  Atomic, molecular, and optical physics, focused on ultra-cold atomic gases, including Bose-Einstein condensates.  Activities and interests include:  atoms in optical lattices;  behavior of cold atoms in reduced dimensions;  collisions and molecule formation; atom optics;  quantum simulation and quantum information processing;  atomtronic circuitry, including superfluid analogs of superconducting circuits with weak links;  non-linear optics and non-classical light, including non-linearity mediated by strongly interacting Rydberg atoms; fundamental constants of nature and the International System of Units.
