Distinguished leader in the business, civic, and philanthropic sectors who possesses a rare combination of intellectual vitality, civic engagement, and global prominence. Over the course of his career, built companies in a range of industries including hospitality, container leasing, pharmaceuticals, managed health care, investments, and others. Forward thinking both in terms of his business investments and of his philanthropic support for emerging fields such as genomics and molecular engineering.
