Susan Levine's research focuses on the development of mathematical and spatial cognition. Her work spans the basic cognitive mechanisms that support mathematical and spatial thinking, the learning environments that foster development in these domains, and the non-cognitive factors that limit academic achievement in math and science. Levine has brought to bear diverse methodologies and large-scale collaborative research to understand the processes that support early cognitive and academic development. Her findings have provided fundamental insights for scientific understanding and translation into educational practice. In addition, Professor Levine has provided guidance for many scientific and policy boards.
