Stephen R. Forrest

Prof. Stephen R. Forrest, a graduate of UC-Berkeley and the University of Michigan, where he is now a distinguished university professor of Electrical Engineering, Physics and Materials Science and Engineering after stepping down as Vice President of Research.  His group of students and post-docs specialize in the understanding and exploitation of optical materials in a range of photonic devices, including photodetectors, lasers, OLEDs, and solar cells, with work that is noted for revolutionizing the fields. Elected to the National Academies of Engineering, Sciences, and Inventors, he serves on numerous advisory and editorial boards to broaden the dissemination of new science.
