Demonstrated how visual signals are transformed into accurate motor actions by neural circuits in the sensory and motor cortex and the cerebellum. Used simple eye movement reflex and a visually-guided voluntary eye movement to discover the sites and neural circuit mechanisms of motor learning in the cerebellum.
