Professor Silvan S. Schweber is the Richard Koret Professor Emeritus at Brandeis University, who specializes in the history of physics and ideas. He is currently researching the history of science in areas that include the history of quantum field theory since World War II, Feynman diagrams, and the effect of these methods on the concept of physics. Some other fields of interest include, post World War II science and a biography of Hans A. Bethe. Some of his publications include, "QED and the Men Who Made It: Dyson, Feynman, Schwinger, and Tomonago," "A Historical Perspective on the Rise of the Standard Model, to appear in The Use of the Standard Model," "Telling the Life of Hans Bethe, Writing Scientific Biography," "In the Shadow of the Bomb: Oppenheimer, Bethe, and the Moral Responsibility of the Scientist," and "Einstein and Oppenheimer: The Meaning of Genius." His work has led to recognition such as the Abraham Pais Prize in 2011.
