Roy Pea is a seminal figure in Education scholarship. Known for his capacious ability to bring together disparate strands of inquiry, he played a significant role in creating Learning Sciences, an interdisciplinary sub-field. He helped found its professional society and he created its first Ph.D. program. Inter-disciplinary accomplishment pervades his scholarship. For example, He created the first viable experimental prototype of the internet to the high school science classroom. He has produced over 200 publications that deepen understanding of K-12 learning and education, especially in science and math fostered by advanced technologies.
