Major interests of this lab are in cell-mediated immunity against non-cytopathic virus infections that sometimes cause immuno-disease causing immuno-pathology. Neutralizing antiviral protective immune responses against cytopathic viruses are being evaluated with respect to their role in protection of newborns and as bearers of immunological memory in an evolutionary context. Immunity against solid peripheral tumors (sarcomas, carcinomas) is studied to hopefully improve anti-tumor vaccine protocols.
