Professor Robert W. Tucker is a Professor Emeritus of American Diplomacy at Johns Hopkins University. His research centers on twentieth century American diplomacy. He has written on issues concerning the use of force-political, legal and ethical. In addition, he has written on a wide variety of subjects touching American foreign policy. At present he is working on a study dealing with Woodrow Wilson and World War I. Some of his notable books include, Woodrow Wilson and the Great War: Reconsidering America's Neutrality 1914-1917, The Nuclear Debate, The Inequality of Nations, The Radical Left and American Foreign Policy, Nation or Empire?, The Just War, and The Law of War and Neutrality at Sea. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, former President of Lehrman Institute, and former Co-Editor of The National Interest.
