History of Christianity. His particular interests are early Christian thought (patristics), Christianity in relation to Greco-Roman culture, and Christianity and Judaism in the Roman world. He has also written on Christianity in Palesting (the Holy Land). Current research is on the Bible in the early church and its interpretation by Christian thinkers. He is editing a series of commentaries on the Bible translated and compiled from early Christian commentaries.
