Developed Mach Operating System used as basis for Apple MacOS X, iOS, many versions of Unix and influential in development of Microsoft Windows. Developed early computer network game Alto Trek (the basis of Microsoft's Allegiance), and an interactive TV system that is the basis of current IPTV systems. Winner of ACM System Software Award. Elected to National Academy of Engineering and Royal Academy of Engineering.
