Richard A. Brody was Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Stanford University. Brody's areas of interest included international conflict, public opinion and voting behavior, the stability of partisan affiliation, and the sources of variations in presidential popularity. He also studied the history of welfare laws. Brody was a Fulbright Professor at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands in 1970-71. He served as president of the Western Political Science Association in 1987-1988.
