Reed Hastings

Reed Hastings co-founded Netflix, Inc. in 1997. Prior to launching Netflix, Hastings served as chief executive officer of Pure Atria Software, a maker of software development tools, from 1991 until 1997. He holds several patents in the areas of data processing and software development. Hastings served on Microsoft's Board of Directors from 2007 through 2012. He also serves on the board of Facebook, Inc. He is an active educational philanthropist and board member of many charitable organizations, particularly in K-12 education. He was President of the California State Board of Education from 2000 to 2004. He is a member of the Technology Network, a political action committee comprised of business people and executives that promotes technology growth and innovation.
