Ralph Owen Slatyer

Professor Emeritus of Environmental Biology, Australian National University Research focussed initially on the responses of plants to environmental factors particularly on the physiology and ecology of water and energy relationships. It then extended into community ecology, especially the ecological responses of communities to disturbances by natural and human induced factors. Subsequently, research has concetrated on public policy formulation, mainly on science and technology policy and technological innovation, and on environmental policy, concentrating on biological conservation.
