Research in almost all fields of condensed matter theory, notably quantum theory of line-breadths and relaxations, quantum th. of antiferromagnetism, localisation by random scattering, theory of magnetism especially impurities, superconductivity (high and low Tc), superfluidity of He-3, spin glass. Ideas of Goldstone and Higgs bosons and of broken symmetry. Complexity studies originating with spin glass and broken ergodicity led to a key role in growth of the Santa Fe Institute.
