Patricia Zavella, Professor Emerita of Latin American and Latino Studies at UC Santa Cruz, taught in the Latin American and Latino Studies Department and is an anthropologist by training. Zavella was an early leader in the study of intersectionality for working Chicanas. Her research focuses on topics like reproductive justice, poverty, transnational migration by Mexicans, Chicanx and Latinx studies, and feminism. She is a former director of the Dolores Huerta Research Center for the Americas.
