Norman Pearlstine
Mr. Norman Pearlstine was the Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer at Time Inc. He is a graduate of Haverford University for his B.A. in history, University of Pennsylvania for his L.L.B., and Southern Methodist University for postgraduate work. Afterwards, he worked at the "Wall Street Journal" as a staff reporter, Tokyo bureau chief, national editor, managing editor, and eventual executive editor. In addition to serving as a temporary partner at Friday Holdings L.P. and a Senior Advisor at The Carlyle Group, Pearlstine was the Chief Content Officer Bloomberg L.P. before joining Time Inc. From his work, he has received prestigious journalism awards such as Editor of the Year Award, Loeb Lifetime Achievement Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award. Pearlstine is also the author of Off the Record: The Press, the Government, and the War over Anonymous Sources, discussing the relationship of media and confidentiality. He served as the past President and CEO of the American Academy in Berlin and serves on the boards for the Carnegie Corporation, the Committee to Protect Journalists, the Tribeca Film Institute, and the Watson Institute for International Relations.
