Nandan Nilekani

Nilekani is an Indian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and co-founder of Infosys Limited, India's second largest tech company and a global leader in information technology. As chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India, a cabinet-level position, Nilekani conceptualized the Aadhaar project--the largest, most sophisticated biometric ID system in the world, which serves as a powerful tool against corruption and for delivery of government's multiple welfare benefits. Nilekani has committed half of his wealth to philanthropy. He is also a co-founder of EkStep, a not-for-profit initiative focused on improving basic education for millions of children worldwide.
