Former Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers. Focused national attention on the need to reform the government regulation process and actively participated in the resulting reforms. Analyzed the unique nature of the defense-industry relationship and successfully advocated changes in government policy toward the defense industry. Founder of what is now called the Weidenbaum Center on the Economy, Government and Public Policy and served as director for twenty-five years.
