Professor Milton Lodge is the Distinguished University Professor of Political Science at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Prior to his appointment at Stony Brook, Lodge held positions at the University of Iowa and University of Michigan. He has developed an experimental procedure to apply S.S. Steven's method of magnitude scaling to the measurement of political reactions. In addition, he has developed and validated online processing models of candidate evaluations, investigated automaticity in political evaluations, and developed a theory integrating online processing models and automaticity. His publications include Soviet Elite Attitudes since StalinComparative Communist Political Leadership, Magnitude Scaling of Social Psychological JudgmentsPolitical Judgment: Structure and Process, and The Rationalizing Voter. His awards include the Robert E. Lane Book Award and the Lasswell Life­Time Achievement Award.
