Early article with Roberto Car, involving the marriage of electronic structure calculations and classical molecular dynamics, had broad, fundamental, and lasting influence, as shown by its many citations and the number of researchers who subsequently reevaluated their research directions in its wake. Work brought the field through a psychological barrier and established the understanding that electronic structure and dynamics could be linked. Work has led to hundreds of applications across the breadth of chemistry. Portfolio of publications has received 33,000 citations and carries a Hirsch index value around 90.~
