Writer. Pulitzer prize-winning novelist known for early realist work and, more recently, for work that explores the genres and language of popular culture. Pursuing themes of escape, anti-fascism, and messianism, the author's major novels reimagine the panorama of twentieth century Jewish life with scrupulous attention to the creative pathways of diasporic culture. Chabon received his B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Pittsburgh, and his M.F.A. from the University of California, Irvine. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the MacDowell Colony. In addition to novels, Chabon has published screenplays, children's books, comics, and newspaper serials.
