Matthew Meyerson, M.D., Ph.D., ​Professor of Genetics and Medicine at Harvard Medical School, is Charles A. Dana Chair in Human Cancer Genetics and Director of the Center for Cancer Genomics at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In addition, he is an Institute Member at Broad Institute of Harvard & MIT and an American Cancer Society Research Professor.

Meyerson has concentrated on using genomic approaches to understand the biology and genetics of human lung and colon cancers. His laboratory brings together expertise in medicine, computational biology, biochemistry, physics, microbiology and clinical oncology for a shared goal of advancing an understanding of cancer and translating this knowledge to improving human health. Meyerson and his lab are focused on using genomic approaches to discover the causes of cancer, and then applying the findings to develop new treatments.

After receiving his M.D. and Ph.D. from Harvard, Meyerson had a residency in clinical pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and a research fellowship at the Whitehead Institute. He has been at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since 1998.
