Quack is an expert in reaction dynamics and high-resolution spectroscopy (both in experiments and in theory). He has worked on symmetry rules in molecular dynamics, and has developed the statistical adiabatic channel model (SACM) widely used in the analysis of elementary chemical reactions. He has elaborated the connection between anharmonic molecular dynamics and molecular spectra. He has provided a thorough understanding of multiphoton infrared laser chemistry and accompanied this by detailed experiments. Quack's actual research focuses on molecular parity violation in relation to chirality, through both experimentation and theory.
