Research focuses on the endocrine control of insect development. She has studied the endocrine control of insect molting and metamorphosis from the organismal to the molecular level, cellular and molecular aspects of cuticle production and pigmentation during growth and molting, the hormonal control of insect behavior, and the molecular basis of the action of the hormones controlling insect development.
