Lisa T. Su
Lisa T. Su is Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD). Over the course of her tenure as CEO, Dr. Su has transformed the company to become a leader in high-performance and adaptive computing and one of the fastest growing semiconductor companies in the world. Prior to joining AMD, Dr. Su served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Networking and Multimedia at Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. (a semiconductor manufacturing company) responsible for global strategy, marketing, and engineering for the company’s embedded communications and applications processor business. She also spent thirteen years at IBM in various engineering and business leadership positions, including as Vice President of the Semiconductor Research and Development Center with responsibility for IBM’s silicon research and development activities. Dr. Su has published more than forty technical articles and was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) in 2009. In 2018, she was elected to the National Academy of Engineering and received the Global Semiconductor Association’s Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award. In 2020, Fortune named Dr. Su #2 on its “Business Person of the Year” list and she received the Grace Hopper Technical Leadership Abie Award. In 2021, she was recognized by the IEEE with its highest semiconductor honor, the Robert N. Noyce Medal and was appointed by President Biden to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Cisco Systems, Inc., since January 2020 and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Semiconductor Industry Association. She was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2020.
