Linda P.B. Katehi
Oversees all aspects of the university’s teaching, research and public service mission. Accomplished engineer, teacher and administration, and role model for women in engineering as well as effective advocate for underrepresented minorities. Focuses on expanding research opportunities for undergraduates and improving the education and professional experience of graduate students. Twenty-two of the forty-four doctoral students who graduated under her supervision have become faculty members in research universities. Past Chair, President’s Committee on the National Medal of Science and the Secretary of Commerce National Medal of Technology and Innovation. Member, National Academy of Engineering and Academy of Arts and Sciences. Fellow and board member, American Association for the Advancement of Science.
