Major research interest is concerned with DNA - structure, thermodynamics of structure changes, synthesis, biological function, and genetics, particularly, human genetics. Contributions have concerned structure-specific molecular associations, structural relations with drugs and mutagens, theory of gel electrophoresis of DNA, thermodynamic detection of sequence variants, and aspects of instrumentation. Interests also include philosophical of aspects of science and their relation to human affairs.
