Maude and Lillian Presley Professor of Social Medicine, Harvard Medical School. Research centers on the impact of social factors (including cultural beliefs) on health status of adults and children. Currently working on a project to improve genetic teaching in medical education in order to increase competence in genetic care and to highlight the interactions between genes and environment. Active in campaigns for human rights and to promote intellectural and humanitarian exchanges with Cuba and Iraq.
