Kyoko Nozaki
Professor Kyoko Nozaki is Professor of Chemistry at University of Tokyo in Japan. She has made seminal contributions in the field of homogeneous catalysis for the selective synthesis of both small molecule and polymeric products. She has developed transition metal catalysts for the co-polymerization of propylene with polar monomers and for the asymmetric synthesis of optically active polymers via CO/olefin co-polymerization. She has invented novel catalysts for the activation of carbon dioxide and for the incorporation of this molecule into both small molecules and polymeric products. In addition, she has made major contributions to the fundamental study of boryl anions both as nucleophiles and as ligands for transition metal complexes.
