Kevin Thompson has built a career as a musician, conductor, educator and avid promoter of arts and culture. He has been a musician and arts academy leader around the world, and is currently the Master of Moon Chun Memorial College at the University of Macau; where he has served since helping found the collegiate system within the University.

After completing his doctoral studies in music and education at University College London (UCL), and spending a Winston Churchill fellowship at the Juilliard School New York, Thompson was inspired to become an educator to develop the next generation of musicians through a combination of conducting and teaching.

Thompson served as president of the Royal Birmingham Conservatory, Dartington, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. While working in the United Kingdom, Thompson was a member of the Prime Minister’s High-Level Advisory Group for International Students, Chairman Royal West of England Academy; Chairman Pilot Theatre Company, Theatre Royal York; and a Cabinet Office appointee and board member of Arts University Bournemouth.

His dedication to arts and culture has been recognized with various appointments and awards, including Order of the British Empire, Knight Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters, and Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour for his outstanding contribution to French music, arts and culture.
