His interests are in the application of natural radioactive and radiogenic isotopes to the study of the Earth. These applications include the use of the cosmogenic nuclides, 7Be, 32Si, and 35S, the members of the 238U and 232Th decay chains and long-lived 187Re which decays to 187Os. Although my studies have involved primarily the oceans and the atmosphere I have also been involved in determining the growth rates of marine organisms, the retardation of nuclides in ground waters and, using Os isotopes, the meteoritic imprint at the Cretaceous-Tertiary Boundary.
