Current research focuses on trust in social relations and networks from a social exchange perspective. She is also working on projects on social justice (especially distributive justice), power-dependence relations and social exchange theory, more generally.  She has examined trust in various domains including in physician-patient relations and social networks. She is currently conducting collaborative research on trust in the sharing economy and other computer mediated forms of interaction. She co-edited the Russell Sage Foundation series on trust and she now serves on the Board of Trustees at the foundation. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and is a member of the Council of NAS.
