
John M. Cornish
John M. Cornish is a retired equity partner of Choate Hall & Stewart, LLP. At Choate, he was a Practice Group Leader, Co-chair of the Wealth Management Group, and member of the Executive Committee. His practice focused on representing families and family owned businesses, complex gift and estate planning, and estate and trust administration. He served on the boards of public and private companies, and public charities, and was a Managing Trustee for many family trusts and private foundations. In his retirement, he continues to serve on the boards of several private companies and private foundations, including The Calderwood Charitable Foundation. He is a Trustee of The Calderwood Charitable Foundation. Mr. Cornish was the General Chairman of the 1999 Ryder Cup Matches at The Country Club in Brookline, MA. He received the A.B. degree (1969) in history from Harvard University, the J.D. (1973) from Georgetown University Law Center, and the LL.M. (1977) in taxation from Boston University School of Law.
