Research centers on the chemistry and physics of the atmosphere, including air pollution, atmospheric ozone chemistry, atmospheric aerosols, and interactions between chemistry and climate. He has published widely on atmospheric models. His current work concerns experimental and theoretical studies of atmospheric aerosol formation, airborne sampling in the atmosphere, and models of gas-aerosol behavior from the urban to the global scale.
