Jie Qiao

Jie Qiao, MD, PhD is acknowledged to be one of China’s leading medical scientists – clinician, researcher, hospital director, and policy leader.  She is President of Peking University Third Hospital, chairs the Ob-Gyn department, and heads its Reproductive Medicine Center.  Professor Qiao has published nearly 200 papers and 15 books on molecular mechanisms of mammalian oocyte maturation, reproductive genetics, and clinical studies of reproductive endocrine and metabolic disorders. Under her leadership, the hospital has innovated many reforms influencing the national reform. She is the only female president of China’s top 10 hospitals and one of 25 female members of the 700+ person-strong Chinese Academy of Engineering which includes a medical section that is equivalent to the US National Academy of Medicine.
