Jeroen Raaijmakers is the leading European memory theorist, author of the still major extant theory of memory search and retrieval. His numerous publications in leading journals show rigorous and creative design and analysis; his theories illustrate the best of mathematical modeling. His research has shown the mechanisms underlying memory priming, and provides the best accounts of interference and forgetting. He has refined our understanding of memory errors. He has made critical statistical and methodological contributions that have had a major effect on the statistical methodology, especially in language research. He has trained many students now professors at major research institutions worldwide.
