Since 2001 Raab has served as President of Hunter College. Under her leadership, Hunter won new levels of government awards, private grants and philanthropic contributions and launched the first capital campaign in its history. The college's academic and student profiles have been raised, and her reforms and improvements have been reflected in Hunter's rising national standing. Earlier, she was Chair of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (1994-2001), and a litigator at two major law firms, Cravath, Swaine & Moore (1985-90) and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison (1990-94). She has also worked for the New York City Planning Commission, the South Bronx Development Organization, and was the issues director for Rudolph W. Giuliani's 1989 mayoral campaign.
