Jeffrey L. Jowell

Sir Jeffrey Jowell KCMG QC, a leading international human rights lawyer and advocate, founded London’s Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law after holding the chair of Public Law at University College London. He now practices international and administrative law at Blackstone Chambers, in London. Sir Jeffrey’s practice in public law includes litigation in the UK and abroad and advice on the constitutions, administrative justice laws and human rights issues in a number of countries across the world.  From 2000-2011 he was the United Kingdom’s Member on the Venice Commission (the Council of Europe’s Commission for Democracy through Law).
