Jeff Koons

Visual Artist. Notable works include Balloon Dog, a series of large-scale sculptures of balloon dogs made of stainless steel and far from weightless. Sculpture and paintings have been exhibited internationally and are included in the collections of museums such as the National Gallery in Washington D.C., the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and London's Tate Modern. Work deals with themes of kitsch and childhood while straddling the boundary between high art and the commercial world. In 2013, Koons Balloon Dog (Orange) sold for a record price for a living sculptor. Named a Chevalier of the French Legion of Honor. 2014 Retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art gained wide international recognition.
