Itzhak Gilboa has pioneered, together with David Schmeidler, the theory of decision making under ambiguity, and is one of the leading figures in the theory of decision making. The multiple priors model of decision making is now standard, as is the idea of case based decision theory. More generally, his work on the philosophical foundations of decision making is deep and important.
