Hugh B. Price was the former president and chief executive officer of the National Urban League and is an expert on education, civil rights, equal opportunity and criminal justice. His 40 year career spans journalism, philanthropy, law, and social advocacy. Currently, he is a non-resident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. He is a member of the Academy of Political Science and American Philosophical Society and serves on the board at Verizon and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Some past awards include the William C. Dawson Award and Dateline Award. Price has initiated the  National Guard Youth Challenge Corps, National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future, Coalition of Community Foundations for Youth, and National Urban League Campaign for African-American Achievement.
