For several years conducted basic research on the development and relative plasticity (i.e. enhanceability and vulnerability) of brain systems important in cognition. Discovered which systems are most changeable, and when, and the mechanisms that determine neuroplasticity; currently is using this knowledge to implement interventions designed to improve cognition and educational outcomes in children.
