Provided an atomic scale understanding of surface-liquid interface behavior during the electrochemical process, using in situ x-ray studies (EXAFS, standing waves, surface diffraction) and metal monolayers on single crystals, developing novel electrodes (e.g., photoactive dendrimers), molecular electronics, electrocatalysts for fuel cell applications novel materials for batteries and supercapacitors and the development of operando methods for the study of electrochemical interfaces.
