Mathematician Haruzo Hida is Professor Emeritus & Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Mathematics at UCLA. He is known for his research in number theory, arithmetic geometry, and modular forms.
His current research interests are: The study of (i) p-adic Hecke algebra over number fields; (ii) Modular Iwasawa theory; (iii) Study of Galois deformation rings; and (iv) Cyclicity and indecombosability problems in Iwasawa theory via Galois deformation.
He received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Kyoto University.
